Gathered Fragments traces the surfaces of the city through imprint, break and reassembly
Each work carries impressions of Fitzroy and North Fitzroy’s urban fabric - cracked pavements, worn edges, and shifting ground. Clay is pressed, broken, and reformed, allowing fragments, seams, and voids to remain visible as part of the final composition.
Made through hand-building and layering, the pieces hold the textures and pressures of the sites they come from, translating the built environment into intimate ceramic form.
The series continues an investigation into tactility and memory, where surfaces become records of place and fragments suggest new ways of reading the city.
Exhibited at Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library (City of Yarra), 2026.
